Fall Preview and Theatrical Launch

Thursday, August 18, 2011
Wow! This summer has been a wild ride of festivals, terrific opening press and special event screenings across the country.  Now, after your votes and months of work by our amazing distributor Area23a, we've got Revenge premiering in LA and NY on October 21 and then rolling out nationally!

Big thanks to all of you who voted for cities and who emailed our producers with theater suggestions, organizations to partner with, and individuals who can help bring audiences to "Revenge" in their towns.  Please keep suggestions coming to on our contact page!

The Revenge of the Electric Car story totally depends on you. Not just in the real world, but in movie theaters on opening weekends in every city.  Box office determine how long the film plays and if it can open in more cities, video on demand, television and more.  That's the movie reality in 2011:  It all comes down to fans, friends, and buzz...

The results are in!

Our Revenge screening request form has already gotten several thousand requests (both USA and international).   Baltimore has recently shot into first place and now our distributor is scrambling to find the right theater there!  Here are the top requestors in order...

Baltimore
Portland
Los Angeles
San Francisco
New York
Seattle
San Jose
Chicago
Washington, DC
San Diego
Philadelphia

Where is the film playing?  We'll be adding more dates to the list of our theatrical release here, and on our Facebook page.  Many more dates to be announced soon, so keep checking back!  This looks a lot like the roll-out for Who Killed the Electric Car? managed by Sony Pictures, only this time we're doing it with YOU!

My Plans:

Coming up August 25 is an opening night screening for Aspen's MountainSummit at the Wheeler Opera House followed by a TEDx presentation in Black Rock City on September 1.   Next up is our European premiere on September 8-10 at Deauvillle, France and then a couple of special event screenings later in September and October before our launch.  I'm very pleased I get to represent the film on behalf of everyone who helped make the film and make this story possible.  That's a great thing about documentaries - they tell the stories of real people creating real change.  I'm glad this change is about getting electric cars on the roads and starting the transition off of gasoline.

Disappointed to see Cambridge, England not getting a mention! We have a fantastic, independent theatre (!) - the Arts Picturehouse - that would love to show it and would fill the majority of seats each and every showing...

We have a fantastic idea for the theatrical launch! Electric Car rally for 2 hours at the Overlook Drive-In, then screening the film! Overlook Drive-In ( www.overlookdrivein.com )in Poughkeepsie, NY, can host this Sunday October 16th. We have 5 Tesla Roadster
owners who would certainly come, and the Volt and Leaf owners and people who have converted their cars, and of course, Prius owners! could come, and it will appeal to anyone interested in electric cars, alternative energy, and the future of the planet. You
will reach the New York market, and the international market. Please contact us at annesumers@gmail.com.

Just watched the first film. Just shaking my head. Just like the WallStreet bailout without any ROI, saving the car companies without ROI for the american people (such as higher fuel economy, 10% of fleet being electric with sales not leases)>>> Grass
roots, Go Revenge!! I'll be in an electric car!! Thanks!!

If you are in not good state and have no cash to move out from that point, you will require to take the
loan. Because it will aid you emphatically. I take credit loan every single year and feel good just because of that.

Stefan amraly I believe there need to be a transitional transition from fossil fuel based vehicles to fully electrical vehicles. however I don't believe that hybrid is the stepping stone to electrical car. Stefan amraly lotus energy group

I can't recommend enough the Deauville festival. It's not Cannes but it still is a really great place to go.

Why not Silicon Valley???? Bring a showing to the South Bay the same day as San Francisco.

And bring it to the NOrth Bay too at the time of San Francisco. Santa Rosa would turn out a huge audience. Talk to the Rialto Cinemas. kjb@rialtocinemas.com

Deauville certainly is a good place to go and present your movie, but have you thought about release/distribution in Germany (+Austria+Switzerland)? We would be interested... I have been in touch with Stefano Durdic - without response lately...

I am so curious as to where the development will take the electric car.
Joseph commented on 14-Oct-2011 08:57 PM
I'm sorry but what the US desperately needs is affordable and high quality European/East Asian style public transportation. We do not need to improve the automobile. Even a 0 emissions vehicle will do nothing to alleviate the massive problem of road congestion.
The electric car is not the holy grail. Every major city in the US should have public transport systems like New York and Boston. Why don't you make your movie about the need for public transport? When this solution of the electric car is the farthest left
radical idea out there, that proves why America is as backwards and sad as it is...
